Anja and Lea are originally from Croatia. She had a good relationship with her sister. Lea was kidnapped by Cutthroat after her sister and she escaped in Cuts Like a Knife. She was going to be auctioned off as a sex slave because she was a virgin. She was rescued by Jane Rizzoli.
